Create A Feel Good Video Montage

create a feel good video montage

What better way to kill some time than to create an awesome YouTube sensation feel good video montage? Not only will you not be bored doing it, but you’ll be making the online world a better place with your good vibes video.

Aren’t there enough bad vibes videos already out there, I mean you only have to look at the news every night and that is pretty much just a ‘bad vibes montage.’

So, collect together some of your favourite inspirational clips. I’m thinking inspirational speakers, death defying extreme sports, amazing theatrical and musical performances, animals saving humans, animals saving animals, humans saving humans, (get the idea?)

Then splice them all together into a nice short 1-3 minutes web clip.

Another key to great video is a great sound track. Find some inspirational music and put it over the top of your video. Upload to YouTube and sit back knowing that today, you made a positive difference to the world. You never know who you might inspire yourself.

mon·tage: noun

  1. the process or technique of selecting, editing, and piecing together separate sections of film to form a continuous whole.

Clean Out Your Email Inbox

Clean Out Your Email Box Or You Might Miss An Email From The Queen

Cleaning our your email inbox is something that’s fun, easy and productive. Well, OK, it’s not actually that fun unless you have OCD but hey ho! It does make life a bit easier when you login to find only the most important emails.

Often I find that an un-organised email account makes it much more likely that important emails will slip through unnoticed. Maybe that’s why I never recieved an email back from The Queen Of England when I wrote to congratulate her on her new Grandson?

The first thing to do is go to your Junk folder. Check to make sure no emails that you wanted to receive have been accidentally identified as junk. If you get a first time email from a friend, and it contains attachments or links, it will often be automatically put in the ‘junk’ or ‘spam’ folder.

Go the the emails on this folder and unsubscribe from the ones you don’t want to get any more emails from. There is usually a little button at the bottom of the page. Go to your main email inbox and select any emails that are junk, like newsletters you don’t read and put them in the junk folder.

Next search for any previous unopened newsletters and delete them. Your aim is to get your inbox down to zero unopened emails. When you reach zero unopened messages your mission is complete and you can pay yourself on the back.

Invent A New Word And Use It Daily

invent a new word and use it daily

The English language is changing constantly, it’s not static and fixed like most people think it is. The Oxford English Dictionary is constantly adding new words that appear in the language of society. So, right now why not try and invent a new word that describes something that so far, is indescribable or not particularly well articulated by our current vocabulary.

Your other challenge is to use it daily (or when the right opportunity arises) with such a height of confidence that people naturally assume it’s just another word that they weren’t aware of. (‘duh, so behind the times.’) You never know, within a few years nerds in Oxford will be pondering the true meaning and origin of the word you just invented.

If you’re so inclined you can use some variation of your own name as the word (your claim in the history books) but this is obviously somewhat harder to make stick if people find out you named a word after yourself.

Every single word that you use was at some point, invented by someone. Recent additions to the Oxford English dictionary include:

  • cryptocurrency
  • perf
  • srsly
  • guac
  • tweetable
  • lifecasting

and many many more. There are at least 10 new words being added to the OED each month, and maybe many more being lost to the abyss of irrelevancy.

Turn Your TV Upside Down And Practice Head Stand Yoga

stop watching tv over the summer

My Yoga teacher use to say that if you did head stand sequence for more than two hours per day then it would halt and then reverse the ageing process. To get over the boredom of being upside down for two hours per day he turned his TV upside down so that he could watch it while doing the head stand.

Be careful with head stand sequence, unless you’ve already taken yoga classes and know what you’r doing. Obviously it’s easy to fall over and knock something else over in the process (most likely the TV.)

Also if you’re shoulders aren’t strong enough you can damage your neck by putting too much body weight on it. Having said that, head stand sequence is immensely beneficial to your health if done correctly.

Memorize Your Favourite Poem

Memorize your favourite poem

Do you even have a favourite poem? If you don’t then find your favourite poem first. After you have found your favourite poem then try and memorize it by putting it as your computer background or print it out and hang it somewhere around the house.

If it’s short then try to memorize it within the next half hour.

Here’s a popular one: The Owl and The Pussycat

The Owl and the Pussy-cat went to sea
In a beautiful pea green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,
And sang to a small guitar,
‘O lovely Pussy! O Pussy my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are,
You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!’

Pussy said to the Owl, ‘You elegant fowl!
How charmingly sweet you sing!
O let us be married! too long we have tarried:
But what shall we do for a ring?’
They sailed away, for a year and a day,
To the land where the Bong-tree grows
And there in a wood a Piggy-wig stood
With a ring at the end of his nose,
His nose,
His nose,
With a ring at the end of his nose.
‘Dear pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling
Your ring?’ Said the Piggy, ‘I will.’
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
The moon,
The moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.

Design A Feel Good Sticker

design a feel good sticker

If you’re any good with designing things then why not design a sticker that has a happy message on it so you can anonymously post it where ever you go. You don’t even have to be very good at design to do this, as long as people get the message.

Maybe think of your favourite quote from a great speaker, writer or poet. Who has been influential on your life and what did they say to you? If you’re not sure about any great quotes then get hold of this awesome quote book, find your favourite, design it into a sticker and get a printer to print it off.

You can now anonymously place the stickers wherever people go who might need inspiration. Just a note but sometimes people frown upon stickers, even if they are quoting Ghandi, so don’t do anything illegal and be a vandal when you do this.

You’re real aim in designing the sticker is to make anybody who sees it laugh out loud and then go and tell their friends about it.

Meanwhile you stay quiet while they ask each other ‘who the hell put that up there?’
